Qognetix has been selected as a Regional Finalist in the UK StartUp Awards 2026, chosen from more than 2,100 startup entries from across the UK.
The company is currently raising £725,000 to expand its team and accelerate development of its execution-layer platform.
The funding will support team expansion, platform development, and the company’s next phase of commercial growth.
As AI systems move from experimentation into live operational settings, Qognetix is focused on the infrastructure needed to make intelligent behaviour more controllable, inspectable, and reliable once deployed.
Qognetix is developing a governed execution substrate for intelligent systems, providing the execution-layer infrastructure needed for more bounded and inspectable behaviour in real-world environments.
While much of the AI market remains focused on models, Qognetix is working on the execution layer: the infrastructure that determines how intelligent behaviour is carried out, inspected, and controlled once systems operate in live settings.
The recognition comes at a time when growing attention is being placed on how intelligent systems are governed and controlled once deployed in real-world environments.
Nic Windley, Founder and CEO of Qognetix, said:
“It’s encouraging to see early recognition for the direction we’re building in. We believe the next major challenge in AI is not just what a model can infer, but how intelligent behaviour is controlled and deployed in real-world systems.”
The company is continuing development across its execution-layer platform and related tooling, with a focus on intelligent systems deployed in high-trust and operationally demanding environments.
Qognetix will now go on to represent the Midlands at the regional final, with winners progressing to the national final later this year.
