Wialon, the global fleet digitalization platform developed by Gurtam, has been recognized as the leading software solution for fleet digitalization in Latin America, according to a new report by IoT market research company Berg Insight.
As part of its regional growth, Wialon has surpassed 450,000 connected vehicles in Mexico — a significant milestone that reflects the platform’s strong position in one of the region’s most dynamic and challenging markets.
Wialon has experienced a sustained growth in Mexico, particularly in sectors such as logistics, freight transport, security, last-mile delivery, construction, and cold chain operations, where the needs for real-time tracking, remote control and theft prevention have become fundamental. In a context where an average of 168 insured vehicles are stolen per day, according to AMIS data, Wialon has become an essential tool for reducing risks and optimizing costs.

According to the Berg Insight report, the number of commercial vehicles in Latin America equipped with fleet management systems is expected to grow from 8.3 million units in 2024 to 16.6 million units by 2029, nearly doubling in five years. This rapid growth highlights the region’s accelerating demand for fleet digitalization solutions — driven by rising security concerns, regulatory pressure, and the need for greater operational efficiency. The announcement of the new milestone in Mexico took place during Expo Seguridad México 2025 — one of the region’s leading industry events.
