Wayfarer Theaters continues its stewardship of Payson’s longtime community movie theater—formerly Stadium Cinemas—by combining meaningful cinema with family-friendly experiences designed to bring the community together.
Wayfarer Theaters Founder and CEO Steve Sarowitz will be in Utah and available for interviews with local and regional media on May 1.
“This theater has been part of Payson for a quarter century,” Sarowitz said. “Our goal is to honor that legacy while creating experiences that invite the community to connect—both inside the theater and beyond the screen.”

To celebrate the release of Angel Studios’ new film Animal Farm, Wayfarer Theaters will host a petting zoo at the Payson theater next weekend, offering families a unique, hands-on experience alongside a powerful cinematic story.
Guests are invited to stop by the theater Friday through Sunday, May 1–3, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM to enjoy the petting zoo, then stay to see Animal Farm on the big screen.
Animal Farm (Angel Studios)
Animal Farm is a satirical allegory of revolution and power, tracing how a movement rooted in equality becomes systematically corrupted. As the pigs consolidate control, truth is erased, dissent is crushed, and the farm descends into a ruthless dictatorship—offering a timely and thought‑provoking exploration of authority, manipulation, and moral responsibility.
A Refreshed Experience, Rooted in Tradition
Wayfarer has undertaken thoughtful renovations to the Payson theater, including improved restrooms, updated signage, and aesthetic upgrades—enhancing comfort while preserving the character local audiences know and love.
Programming reflects Wayfarer’s guiding philosophy: “If it starts in darkness, it should end in light.” The theater continues to feature first-run films alongside independent, foreign, and classic titles that enrich the human spirit.
