Cuffley Manor Care Home, part of the TLC Care Group hosted a Volunteer Recognition Day on Thursday, April 20th to thank and recognise the volunteers who have made a significant contribution to the local community and the care home’s residents. The event was a resounding success, thanks in part to the participation of the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport and Michael Myers’ Jive Dancing Group.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport and Michael Myers’ Jive Dancing Group for joining us on Volunteer Recognition Day,” said Sharifa Hussain, Business Development Manager at Cuffley Manor. “Their presence and participation brought so much joy to our residents, and we are extremely grateful for their support.”
The event was a delightful experience for everyone involved, with Michael Myers’ Jive Dancing Group wowing the crowd with their impressive moves and performance. The group’s foot-tapping performance got the residents and staff moving to the beat, bringing back memories of their younger days.
Lynn Watt, Volunteer & Schools Co-ordinator on behalf of the Enfield & District Veteran Vehicle Trust, was also in attendance and shared her appreciation for the day, saying, “Thank you for the wonderful hospitality from you and your team on Thursday. It was a joy to see the pleasure the event gave your residents and to hear some of their anecdotes about seeing the old vehicles and artifacts. The jive group were just brilliant!”
Michael Myers, from Footloose Jive Group, also shared his thoughts on the event, saying, “Well that was a good afternoon, we all enjoyed it immensely. It was great the reaction we had from everyone at the home and I think you all enjoyed it, residents and team members. I loved the display of vintage vehicles as did two petrol heads and sitting on the bus; it reminded me of my days out with mum and dad when I was young, wonderful.”
