East Midlands-based civil and structural engineer BSP Consulting has announced the appointment of the three new directors to its senior leadership team.

Carol Ell, Monika Anszperger and James Payne have each been with BSP for a number of years and are widely recognised as senior leaders within the business. All three have been appointed to Director to help drive the continued growth and success of the firm, which has offices across the East Midlands.

Based in BSP’s Leicester office, Carol Ell, has been appointed as Director of Civils. An expert in flood and risk assessment and drainage strategy design, Carol joined the company back in 2004 as a civil engineer and has since held Lead Associate, Associate Director roles. Her project experience ranges from large residential schemes through to small rural social housing schemes and includes industrial and commercial projects.

Monika Anszperger joined BSP in 2104 and has extensive experience of structural engineering design for large complex projects. Her project management and coordination of consulting engineering services extends across all sectors. She will now lead the Derby team as Director of the office.

James Payne joined BSP as an apprentice in 2001, became Finance Manager and then Associate Director. He now takes up the role of Director with responsibility for IT infrastructure and administration.

Clive Roddick and Tony Goddard will also be stepping down as Directors. Clive, a founding Director of the business, will continue to play an important role within BSP as a consultant, remaining a key client contact and a technical lead.

After more than 20 years at BSP, during which time he made an outstanding contribution to the company’s growth and success, Tony Goddard will be retiring with the very best wishes of the team

The new roles will take effect from 1st April 2026.
