Swansway Motor Group would like to extend their warmest congratulations to Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham Head of Business Chris Evans. Chris – better known in the automotive industry as California Chris – was awarded a Gold Pin at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle’s Dealer Performance Awards for his exceptional service to the brand.
Originally starting his California Chris YouTube Channel in 2016, Chris decided he wanted to make videos to help his customers to better understand the Volkswagen California range. Based on his experience in sales, Chris knew that handing over a California to a customer could take considerably longer than any other vehicle in the Volkswagen Commercial range, this is due to all the incredible features that come with the California. The first videos on the channel were used as tools for customer handovers, giving them a point of reference once they drove away from the showroom.
Now with over 13,000 subscribers, California Chris has become a known name within the world of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The content of the videos still remains to inform but has expanded to include news and product information on all vehicles in the Volkswagen Commercial range.
Joining the Swansway Family in 2008, working on the service reception at Wrexham Volkswagen, Chris has worked his way through the ranks, including spending 11 years at Swansway’s Volkswagen Van Centre Liverpool retailer, in 2021 he made the move back to Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham to take on the role as Head of Business.
Chris commented on the win;
“I’m really happy, it’s a great honour to receive this award. To gain recognition from the brand is an incredible feeling, it’s certainly a sign that we’re doing something right and I look forward to continuing that work.”
