Greater Manchester carpet cleaning company founder completes advanced accreditation with the National Carpet Cleaners Association – the United Kingdom’s leading professional body for carpet and upholstery care
Jacob Dowe, founder and lead technician of Manchester-based Stain Kings, has been awarded Advanced Technician Certification by the National Carpet Cleaners Association – the highest individual accreditation offered by the NCCA for practicing carpet and upholstery cleaning professionals in the United Kingdom.
The certification follows completion of an advanced assessment programme covering fibre identification, stain chemistry, hot water extraction methodology, wool and delicate fibre handling, and risk assessment for specialist cleaning scenarios. The NCCA Advanced Technician designation is held by a small number of practitioners nationally and requires demonstrated competence across residential, commercial and specialist carpet care disciplines.
“This certification represents eight years of hands-on learning across every type of carpet, fibre and stain condition you encounter in Greater Manchester homes,” said Dowe. “From delicate wool Axminsters in Victorian terraces across Didsbury and Chorlton to heavy-traffic polypropylene in new-build apartments around Salford Quays – each property teaches you something. The NCCA advanced programme formalises that practical knowledge against a recognised industry standard.”
Dowe founded Stain Kings in 2018 as a single-van carpet cleaning operation in Manchester. The company has since grown to serve all residential and commercial properties across Greater Manchester – covering every M, BL, OL, SK and WN postcode district – and has completed over 1,500 home cleans. The company maintains a 4.9 out of 5 customer service rating and operates as a trusted contractor for established letting agencies including Thornley Groves, Bridgfords, Julie Twist Properties, Reeds Rains, Ryder and Dutton, and Ascend Properties.
In addition to the NCCA Advanced Technician designation, Dowe and the Stain Kings team hold accreditations with The Association of Carpet Cleaning Agents and maintain WoolSafe Approved Service Provider status through the WoolSafe Organisation. All cleaning is carried out using hot water extraction – the method recommended by major UK manufacturers including Cormar Carpets, Brintons and Victoria Carpets – with professional solutions from Prochem Europe.
“Customers deserve to know that the person cleaning their carpets has been trained and assessed to a recognised standard,” said Dowe. “Too many operators in Manchester have no formal training at all. Accreditation through bodies like the NCCA and TACCA exists to protect homeowners – and to raise the standard of the entire industry.”
Every Stain Kings technician is fully DBS checked, carries public liability insurance and uses non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning solutions certified safe for children, pets and allergy sufferers.
