Bronx, NY April 8th, 2026

St. Joan of Arc Church in the Bronx has officially opened its Food Pantry, made possible by a $33,000 grant from the Archdiocese of New York’s Sharing God’s Gift Program. The pantry held its first food distribution on Tuesday, April 4, 2026, serving approximately 350 families in the Soundview section of The Bronx.

The Sharing God’s Gift Program, an initiative of the Archdiocese of New York, provides funding to parishes and community organizations working to address critical needs across the region. The grant awarded to St. Joan of Arc will support the church’s ongoing efforts to combat food insecurity in one of the city’s most underserved neighborhoods.

“I am very grateful to Archbishop Hicks, Cardinal Dolan and the Archdiocese of New York for helping us put a dent in hunger in the Soundview section of The Bronx,” said Father Adaly Rosado, Jr., pastor of St. Joan of Arc Church.

The inaugural distribution brought a strong turnout from the community, with volunteers and staff working together to ensure families received the food they needed. The response from those served was immediate and heartfelt.

“It felt great helping the community, being around them and seeing them smile,” said Michelle Perez, Food Pantry Manager at St. Joan of Arc.
