Press Release

Cala Homes (North Home Counties) has expanded its ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative to its Limsi Grove development in Hertford.

Launched this year, Limsi Grove’s Showhome of Support has seen the major homebuilder work with small retailers and creators in and around Hertford – giving local independents a platform to showcase their products, produce and designs to residents and potential homebuyers in the area.

Cala has worked with its interior designers and small businesses across Hertford, who have come together to help accessorise its Nessvale and Osmore showhomes.

Independents taking part in the initiative, with items on display in the homes, include:

  • Five & Dime – Contemporary interior, homeware, and lifestyle store in Hertford stocking curated items from emerging designers and brands.
  • Roo & Moo – Luxury online boutique featuring sustainable clothing, accessories, books, stationery, gifting and babywear.
  • McMullens – Local brewer founded in 1827 stocking bottled and cask beers in Hertford.
  • Sugar & Scoop – Zero waste refill store in Ware, Hertford.
  • Foxholes Farm – Farm shop and butchery dating back to the Second World War.
  • Magpie Amore – Hand-picked, one off vintage clothes and jewellery.
  • The Shop Hertford – All things homeware, sourced from Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads. Ethical, organic and sustainable.

The initiative follows the initial launch of Showhome of Support at Cala’s Hurlocke Fields development in Hitchin, earlier this year.

All featured local businesses have been signposted throughout the properties and promoted on the housebuilder’s website with a bespoke landing page, as the developer looks to showcase the local talent.

Glenn Copper, Sales & Marketing Director for Cala Homes North Home Counties, said: “We’re so excited to see our Showhome of Support initiative expand to Limsi Grove, supporting more local businesses in and around Hertford.

“Hertford is such a rich area for independent retailers, so it’s wonderful to see so many represented in our showhomes. Since Limsi Grove is such a desirable location offering country living but within easy commuter distance from London, it’s an ideal area to showcase the strong local suppliers.

“It can be a tough road for small businesses, particularly after the pandemic and now increased cost of living pressures, so it’s important to us to show off the high quality, sustainable suppliers right on the doorstep of this popular development. By working with these local businesses, we will be bringing a distinctive identity to our showhomes in Limsi Grove.”

Nestled in a conservation area and bounded by a gentle slope running down to a stream on one side, a cricket pitch on the other and mature trees lining the location, Limsi Grove offers the best of both town and country living.

Located in the sought-after town of Hertford, within close distance of great schooling options, two train stations and a bustling town centre, it’s also a perfect home for commuters with trains to London Liverpool Street frequent and in under an hour.

Cala’s contemporary collection of forty-one 3, 4 and 5-bedroom detached homes offer options to suit first time buyers, growing families or downsizers, all finished to a high standard with a modern specification throughout.
