Sesame Workshop, the global nonprofit behind Sesame Street, and global edtech leader Discovery Education announced the creation of a new Sesame Workshop-branded collection of resources within Espresso, designed to meet the needs of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Consistent with Discovery Education’s solutions for schools, the collection includes high-quality video content today’s pupils know and love, as well as lesson plans and teaching resources; interactive games and activities for pupils; and family partnership supports – all focused on a whole-child approach.

The Sesame Workshop Collection, with innovative teaching and learning solutions, is now available via Espresso – Discovery Education’s learning resource for primary schools. The content supports the development of foundational academic skills in maths and literacy matched to the UK curriculum plus PSHE resources focused on positive and healthy identity and wellness. At the centre of these resources is research-based content from across the wide range of Sesame Workshop media, including Sesame Street.

“Sesame Workshop is committed to ensuring school readiness and helping children develop the emotional, social, and cognitive skills needed to become lifelong learners,” said Akimi Gibson, SVP, Global Education Planning at Sesame Workshop. “As part of this ongoing commitment, we are thrilled to partner with Discovery Education to distribute proven, cohesive yet flexible EYFS curricular resources directly into the hands of schools and the teachers of our youngest learners. Discovery Education’s 20+ years of expertise in the learning space and their leadership in delivering high-quality curriculum resources make them an ideal collaborator in our efforts to help all children grow smarter, stronger and kinder.”

Michael Savitz, Discovery Education’s General Manager International, said:

“Discovery Education is pleased to continue its relationship with Sesame Workshop and we’re excited to bring the first dedicated collection of EYFS resources to our award-winning Espresso platform. This engaging new content will help teachers across the UK to easily find and deliver playful learning experiences that spark curiosity for every child.”
