Rochdale Law Firm Supports Springhill Hospice With Free Wills Initiative

Rochdale law firm JHBS Solicitors is offering local residents the opportunity to produce a will for free, in return for a donation to Springhill Hospice – a local charity that provides vital, palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as offering support and advice for their loved ones.

Signing up to be the charity’s “Make a Will” campaign throughout June, the initiative will see JBHS’ expert Wills team waive their fee for writing a basic will, in return for a suggested donation of 100 for a single, or £180 for a joint will.

Also based in Rochdale, in the past year alone Springhill Hospice’s dedicated team has helped over 2,500 people. While all the charity’s services are free of charge, the running costs of the Hospice equates to £14,795 a day (more than half the Hospice has to fund itself).

Commenting on the initiative and JBHS’s support of Springhill Hospice Rebecca Abbott, a Partner and Wills specialist at the law firm, said: “This is a fantastic initiative that raises funds for a very important cause. At JBHS we really value these opportunities to give back to the community where many of our staff live and work, and Springhill Hospice is a cause particularly close to many of our hearts.”

Commenting on JBHS’ support, Springhill Hospice Supporter Engagement Fundraiser, Rachel Cutler, said: “We really appreciate all the support given to us by JBHS and their Free Will writing service. I recommend that everyone has a Will in place to safeguard their loved ones futures. Every donation made to Springhill in return for a Free Will helps to provide Palliative care for anyone that needs it in the Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood area.”

Rebecca from JBHS added: “No one likes to talk about death, but making a Will is really important for so many reasons. Not least if you want to have some control over how your money, property or possessions should be allocated after you pass away.

“A Will means that what you want to happen will be listened to, and it also helps to alleviate some of the stress that your loved ones might feel after you die. Many people also choose to leave a donation to a charity that has touched their lives in one way or another, such as Spring Hill Hospice, so that donation can also be factored into the Will.”
