Knockhatch Adventure Park is thrilled to announce the birth of twin ring-tailed lemurs on Monday, 19th May, 2025.
Ring tailed lemurs, native to Madagascar, typically give birth to a single offspring each year.
The arrival of healthy twins is therefore a rare and exciting occurrence for the park and a testament to their breeding programme.
“It’s not every day you see twin ring-tailed lemurs, and they are already capturing the hearts of our team. The mother is doing a fantastic job caring for her little ones, who are currently very small and dependent on her.” said zoo keeper, Tom Donovan, 27 years old.
Visitors to Knockhatch Adventure Park will have the opportunity to see the new arrivals in the open air lemur enclosure. While the twins are still young and closely attached to their mother, they are clearly visible as the mim moves around the enclosure.
