Quantum Senses is proud to announce the world premiere of PLIGHT, a groundbreaking feature film that confronts the harsh realities of racial inequality, discrimination, and systemic barriers faced by Black individuals in today’s society. The official red-carpet premiere will take place at the Brandywine Xscape Theatre on January 17, 2026 at 7:00 pm, with a nationwide release on Tubi to follow.
Written and directed by visionary filmmaker Justin Lee, Founder and Chief Executive Director of Quantum Senses, PLIGHT is a raw and unflinching exploration of the discrimination, cultural inequities, and systemic barriers that Black individuals face daily.
PLIGHT is more than a film—it is a movement. Through raw storytelling, emotional depth, and moments of humor amid hardship, PLIGHT exposes the inequities that persist in workplaces, communities, and institutions across America. Balancing heartbreak and humor, PLIGHT blends intimate storytelling with cinematic realism, offering a humanized portrait of endurance in the face of injustice.
The film follows four Black men—Devon Thompson, Clyde Mosely, Charlie Carter, and Ken Washington— whose intertwined lives reveal how discrimination and cultural inequality shape lives across generations, while also highlighting the strength of community and the power of perseverance.
“We didn’t set out to make a movie for comfort—we set out to start a conversation,” Lee said. “This film shines a light on truths too often ignored and honors the strength of those who continue to fight for recognition, respect, and equality.”
At its core, PLIGHT challenges audiences to look inward, to listen, and to act. It asks the difficult questions about justice, belonging, and the cost of silence—while celebrating the humanity and unity that make change possible.
With powerful performances, a stirring score, and authentic storytelling, PLIGHT is a cinematic call to awareness and action—a reminder that the pursuit of justice is not optional but essential.

The film’s premiere screening will feature a Q&A session with the cast and creators, followed by a community reception spotlighting organizations working toward racial equity and reform.
