Steps being taken to address climate change in South Staffordshire and the Shropshire / Staffordshire border will be discussed at an event hosted by responsible local landowner Bradford Estates next month.
Bradford Estates are inviting businesses and representatives of interested groups to attend a networking event, organised in partnership with South Staffordshire Council, on Thursday 3rd November to hear about the local steps being taken to protect the environment.
The climate change networking event, which is set to take place at Woodlands Farm, Weston under Lizard, will highlight how South Staffordshire Council is working with local businesses and their partners to address the impact on the local ecology.
It comes after South Staffordshire Council was named a ‘net zero leader’ by Western Power Distribution earlier this year.
Delegates will hear from South Staffordshire Councillor Len Bates B.E.M, the Cabinet Member for Community Services, who will provide an update on the measures the council is taking to support local businesses on green issues as part of a morning aim at raising awareness and focusing on practical solutions.
Bradford Estates Managing Director Alexander Newport, together with Farms Director Oliver Scott and Construction Director Alastair Hollands, will talk through Bradford Estates’ responsible stewardship approach and the practical steps they are taking to mitigate climate change and reduce their carbon footprint across their farming, construction, and estates management divisions.

Councillor Len Bates added: “This is an exciting opportunity to talk to local businesses about their environmental responsibility and how collectively we can take positive action on climate change. It would be great to see as many local business owners as possible at the event to highlight the work South Staffordshire Council is doing to address this issue.”
Bradford Estates will host a tour of Woodlands Farm, located on the Shropshire and Staffordshire border to conclude the event. The event will take place between 9.15am and 12pm at Woodlands Farm, Mill Lane, Weston under Lizard, TF11 8PX.
