PIDSO Embarks on Groundbreaking U-CCA Project (GARUDA) with European Defence Fund

PIDSO, a leader in high-end antennas, antenna-systems, and radar technology, has announced a significant new project in collaboration with the European Defence Fund. This ambitious initiative, in partnership with various companies across Europe, aims to establish the foundational architecture for Unmanned Collaborative Combat Aircraft (U-CCA) systems. These systems are designed to evolve in response to the dynamic and long-term operational needs of EU defence forces.

The GARUDA project introduces an innovative design-and-simulate process that involves incremental iterations between system design and operational simulation. This approach is set to revolutionize the development of the U-CCA, creating a versatile platform that offers a fleet of design variants centered around a common core. Such a disruptive methodology ensures the long-term adaptability and relevance of the U-CCA platform, facilitating the rapid development of new specialized variants as operational requirements and needs evolve.

“This partnership marks a pivotal moment in the advancement of defence technology,” said DI Dr. Christoph Kienmayer, CEO of PIDSO. “By leveraging our expertise in antenna and radar technology, we are poised to contribute significantly to the development of a platform that will redefine the capabilities of unmanned combat aircraft systems across Europe.”

Coordinated by ONERA, the French Aerospace Lab under the supervision of the French Ministry of Defence, this project brings together a European consortium of nine partners.

The collaboration with the European Defence Fund underscores PIDSO’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of defence technology. By working alongside leading companies from different countries, PIDSO is at the forefront of creating solutions that not only meet current defence needs but also anticipate future challenges.

This project is expected to set new standards in the design and deployment of unmanned systems, enhancing the operational capabilities of EU defence forces. As the project progresses, PIDSO and its partners will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of unmanned collaborative combat aircraft systems.
