Peymo, a London-based hybrid payment platform, has received official approval on the WordPress Plugin Directory, making its crypto payment gateway available to WooCommerce merchants worldwide.
The plugin allows online merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments directly within their existing checkout flow, with the option to settle transactions in either crypto or fiat currency. Installation requires no infrastructure changes, and the gateway operates alongside existing payment methods.
WooCommerce is one of the most widely used e-commerce platforms globally. Peymo’s approval on the WordPress Plugin Directory gives the company immediate distribution access to a large segment of the global online merchant base. Over 580 million people worldwide currently hold cryptocurrency, yet merchant acceptance remains limited. Peymo’s gateway is designed to close that gap by reducing the technical and operational barriers to crypto payment acceptance.
“This is a key milestone in our mission to make crypto usable in everyday payments,” said Tomas Bartos, CEO of Peymo. “For the first time, millions of merchants can instantly enable crypto payments and tap into a global base of over 580 million crypto holders.”
Alongside the plugin launch, Peymo is introducing a referral mechanism within its app. Users who refer a WooCommerce merchant to the platform earn a share of transaction revenue once that merchant begins processing payments through the plugin.
A forthcoming update will allow customers to complete payments without a Peymo wallet, broadening access beyond the existing user base while maintaining lower fees for Peymo account holders.
Peymo has confirmed that integrations with Shopify and Wix are in development, representing the next phase of the company’s e-commerce expansion.
