Pentest People Achieves the Investors in People’s We invest in people accreditation

Penetration Testing as a Service (PTaaS) and cybersecurity experts, Pentest People has been awarded a three-year We invest in people, standard accreditation by Investors in People to recognise its continued work in the development and support of its team based in the company’s Leeds and Cheltenham offices.

The We invest in people framework helps organisations understand their performance at leading, supporting and improving individuals and teams, plus the company’s culture strategy. It compares its principles and practices against other organisations in the industry and sector globally, specifically cybersecurity for Pentest People.

Pentest People’s rapid growth has seen its team expand to over 100 people across its two offices located at the Coachworks, Leeds and close to Government Communications Headquarters’ (GCHQ’s) cybersecurity hub in Cheltenham. It has also vowed to further grow the consultancy side of the business, building greater Incident Response, CHECK and Cyber Essentials teams.

Dedicated to developing new talent, Pentest People launched a successful scheme in 2018 that saw the company take on seven apprentices and graduates a year to support local jobseekers to gain employment in cybersecurity. To date, Pentest People has taken 14 former apprentices and graduates into full-time employment and currently has a total of 19 apprentices and graduates in training.

Like many, Pentest People faced the challenge of getting people back into the office post-pandemic and understood how important it was for the team’s mental health to reintroduce the office environment. To encourage staff back into the office, Pentest People has regular work socials to mix with other departments outside of work with events such as Chowdown and buy-in lunches for the team. There is also a great culture of encouragement with gym memberships available for employees to help physical health as well as mental health.

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Pentest People. Being accredited with We invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places Pentest People in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

“The well-being and support of staff at Pentest People has always been the number one priority. From the early days of my career, I understood the value of making sure a team felt appreciated at work – it is this that cultivates a respectful and thriving culture for a business to succeed,” comments Andrew Mason, Co-Founder of Pentest People. “The success of Pentest People is down to the people that work for the company and this accreditation demonstrates our continued commitment to developing the team and making the changes needed to guarantee our work environment and culture is the best out there.”

Investors In People’s purpose has been to make work better for over 30 years, helping over 50,000 organisations and 11 million people across the globe. Pentest People join a community of over 15,000 organisations across 75 countries to continue the purpose and help make society stronger, healthier and happier.
