A Manchester law firm is receiving increased requests for representation from adult content creators on OnlyFans, as growing numbers of people use the platform to generate income.
Blackmont Legal, based in Manchester, has begun offering specialist services to models and agencies working with adult sites – a move aimed at giving creators the legal protection they deserve.
With some top creators exceeding £20,000 per month in earnings, the firm has expressed concern that the platform’s rapid rise is leaving many vulnerable to agencies using improper contracts, low pay and poor working conditions.
Zohaib Hashim, founder and CEO of Blackmont Legal, said: “Creators are running full-scale operations. They generate significant income, but most have never had access to proper legal or financial advice. That lack of support leaves them vulnerable.”
Blackmont Legal helps creators understand contracts, manage taxes, and build compliant businesses in a complex online marketplace. The firm already offers similar services to social media influencers who make money on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
Zohaib added: “OnlyFans creators encounter many of the same legal and financial challenges as traditional social media influencers. The main difference lies in the nature of their content, and the fact that OnlyFans creators often experience a meteoric rise to financial success.”
According to industry data, mid-level UK OnlyFans creators can earn between £2,000 and £10,000 per month, while top performers exceed £20,000 monthly. As of November 2025, there are a recorded 22,790 Only Fans creators in the UK.
The rise of subscription-based content has created what some call an “under economy” – a digital workforce that sits outside traditional employment structures. Many working in this sector may earn substantial sums but operate without contracts, VAT registration, or an understanding of their tax obligations.
Recent figures from HMRC show there are around 7 million self-employed individuals in Self-Assessment across the UK, with nearly 3 million earning over £20,000 annually.
Blackmont Legal works directly with both creators and agencies, ensuring that agreements are fair and transparent, and that models retain control over their income and image rights.

Many creators come from non-traditional backgrounds and have never received financial guidance. As self-employed individuals, OnlyFans creators must navigate complex tax obligations, including self-employment taxes and record-keeping. Failure to comply can result in significant financial penalties.
