Press Release

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia & Dubai, UAE - Nov. 2, 2025

OITI Computer Training and Digital Solutions and FasterCapital announced a strategic partnership today through FasterCapital’s Equitypilot program to accelerate OITI’s commercialization of AI, IoT and data-driven education solutions across Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. The collaboration combines OITI’s local innovation capabilities with Equitypilot’s mentoring, funding and go-to-market resources.

Market opportunity & problem statement

Ethiopia and the broader East African tech market are experiencing rapid digital transformation: digital education, agri-tech, and health-tech solutions are projected to grow in double digits annually while facing chronic gaps in applied R&D, commercialization capacity and skilled talent. Rural education and agriculture systems in Oromia suffer from low technology adoption, limited data infrastructure and fragmented innovation pathways. OITI targets these inefficiencies, aiming to convert academic research into scalable products that address measurable productivity and access gaps.

Startup solution & differentiation

OITI develops applied tech solutions AI-driven learning platforms, precision agriculture IoT tools, and health-data analytics that combine local language support with low-bandwidth delivery and user-centered design. OITI’s model blends incubation, curriculum-aligned training for student inventors, and pilot deployments with regional partners. Early pilot results show improved student retention in digital classrooms and yield increases in smallholder trials. OITI’s defensible edge is deep local domain expertise, multilingual NLP capabilities for Afaan Oromo, and integrated incubation-to-market pathways that reduce commercialization friction.

FasterCapital partnership value

Through Equitypilot, OITI will access FasterCapital’s global acceleration resources: structured mentorship, technical advisory, go-to-market playbooks and seed capital to transition pilots to paying customers. FasterCapital’s selective criteria ensure rigorous validation and high-growth potential a key credibility signal for regional partners and international investors. The program will run on a defined 6–12 month acceleration timeline, targeting product-market fit validation, initial revenue generation and a seed funding round introduction.

Executive quotes

Hesham Zreik, founder and CEO of FasterCapital: “We invest where strong technical talent meets a clear local market need. OITI’s combination of applied research, community focus and startup ambition makes it a compelling Equitypilot candidate. Our program is designed to fast-track measurable impact and sustainable revenue.”

Tariku Endale, CEO and Founder, OITI: “Partnering with FasterCapital will supercharge our ability to translate student-led innovations into accessible tech products for schools, farms and clinics. This partnership validates our mission to localize advanced technologies and scale solutions that improve livelihoods across Oromia and beyond.”

Growth trajectory & future plans

Over the next 12 months OITI will complete expanded pilots in three Oromia zones, launch its first commercial AI-education product, and onboard institutional partners in education and agriculture. The organization is targeting a seed round within 9–12 months to scale operations across Ethiopia and enter neighboring markets, with a long-term vision to become a regional hub for applied tech innovation and workforce development.
