Press Release

BURY, GREATER MANCHESTER - March 30, 2026

Rakem Group, guided by its philosophy of people, planet, profit, and partnership, has renewed its decade-long distribution partnership with Turkey’s Organik Kimya.

The chemical manufacturer and distributor will import water-based polymer emulsions through its site in Bury that will be used for coatings, textiles and adhesives.

Supporting the group’s commitment to sustainability, shorter supply chains and helping businesses move from solvents to water-based products, the agreement continues the partnership with a global emulsions’ leader.

Focussed on low-carbon innovation, Organik Kimya is famed for pioneering the adoption of renewable electricity and sustainable manufacturing in Europe. In 2017 it switched its entire Rotterdam plant to certified renewable energy and is now developing one of the largest land-based solar investments in Turkey.

Through technical support and formulation advice Rakem Group will continue to support manufacturers in the UK to transition to more sustainable products by making sure they get the right products for the right use.

Danny Ashburner, Head of Commercial at Rakem Group, said: “We need to respond to customer needs and Organik Kimya’s innovative high-performing, low-carbon and sustainable range provides everything they need with an eye on Life Cycle Assessments and how we continue the chemical journey to circularity.

“For us, they are flexible, agile, offer good technical support and they manufacture in the EU which supports shorter supply chains and allows us to be competitive on price for our customers.”

The agreed partnership follows Maker Industrial, the Group’s liquid and powder coatings manufacturing arm, being awarded EcoVadis Gold for being in the top five percent of businesses globally for environmental, sustainability and social performance alongside Organik Kimya which also has this accolade.

Melissa Kaslowski, Coatings Sales Representative, Organik Kimya, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership and look forward to supporting customers in the UK market together with the Rakem Group. Their strong market reputation, technical know-how, and customer-centric approach make them an ideal partner for us.”

Through this long-standing strategic partnership both companies will deliver innovative, reliable and sustainable solutions for the evolving and increasingly sustainability focussed needs of the UK coatings industry.
