A new free online tool is helping parents avoid one of the most common stresses of flying with a baby — discovering at the gate that their pushchair won’t fit in the overhead locker.
The Stroller Airline Size Checker, launched by UK baby travel resource BabyTravel UK, lets parents select their stroller model and airline from a dropdown menu and instantly see whether their pushchair meets the airline’s cabin baggage size limits, needs to be gate-checked, or must go in the hold.
The tool currently covers 13 airlines including Ryanair, easyJet, British Airways, Jet2, TUI, Wizz Air, and Emirates, alongside 10 of the most popular travel stroller models sold in the UK. Parents whose stroller isn’t listed can enter custom dimensions manually.
With airline cabin baggage policies varying significantly and changing frequently, parents often discover size restrictions too late. A 2026 comparison by BabyTravel UK found that the maximum cabin dimensions differ by up to 15cm between major European carriers, meaning a stroller that fits on one airline may be rejected by another.
The checker is part of a wider expansion by BabyTravel UK, which now publishes over 240 free guides covering UK and European destinations, practical travel advice, gear reviews, and age-specific content for parents travelling with babies and toddlers aged 0 to 3.
