Maufin Money, an emerging force in UK fintech, has reached a major milestone after being selected as one of just 55 semi-finalists from a pool of 290 applicants in Scottish EDGE Round 26. The recognition comes with the possibility to win a £100K prize; and reflects the startup’s vision to deliver inclusive financial services thereby reshaping a £51.5B global industry.
Founded by Funmi Oluduro, an award-winning innovator and BAME female leader, Maufin is redefining what leadership in tech looks like. With a background that spans architecture, design, and entrepreneurship, Funmi has brought a multidisciplinary approach to fintech innovation. She now leads a team developing pioneering solutions aimed at tackling financial exclusion both in the UK and globally.

The recognition comes in a year filled with achievements: Maufin was shortlisted in the Problem Solver category by The Channel Co. and celebrated nine nominations along with two international award wins — the Women in Software Awards 2024 and the Global Recognition Award™. The company has also been profiled by Fintech Scotland and Makers Academy for its innovative work.
Beyond competitions, Maufin is advancing through the Innovate UK Venture Forward programme and is under consideration for FirstPort’s StartIt fund, further boosting its growth prospects. Funmi’s commitment to mentoring — through partnerships with City St. George’s University, Black Professionals UK, Techstars Global, and the Scottish Council of African Churches (SCoAS) — underscores her drive to elevate the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
