Manorview Group Become Custodians of Brisbane House, Largs

Boutique hotel operator Manorview Group has added to their portfolio of Scottish venues with the acquisition of Brisbane House Hotel in Largs, making this the tenth in their collection.

The Scottish group, who were last year crowned Independent Multiple Operator of the Year at the 2021 SLTN Awards, have had growth plans firmly in their sight for some time, as they looked for ways to strengthen and expand the business following the challenges of the covid pandemic.

Manorview has vast experience in operating sub-urban and rural businesses that serve the local community as well as tourists and visitors. Their collection includes the nearby Bowfield Hotel and Country Club in Howwood, the recently revamped Redhurst in Giffnock and romantic destination Cornhill Castle in Biggar to name just a few.

“Brisbane House is a fantastic fit for our varied portfolio of boutique hotels” says Steve Graham, Founder and Director of Manorview. “We have admired it for a long time and many of the team have been frequent customers themselves. It mirrors the venues that we already operate in lots of ways. But like everything in our collection, it also has something unique that we didn’t already have for our expanding customer base.”

“The location is fantastic.” Steve continued “Largs has so much to offer both the local people and visitors from near and far. And with its coastal setting, the hotel itself not only boasts stunning views, we feel it also gives guests a real sense of escape and relaxation. We are delighted to become the custodians of this iconic Largs venue. We look forward to working with the existing team and greeting regular and new customers.”

The group will continue to operate the venue as it is, and all bookings made at the hotel will be honoured. David Tracey, Managing Director of the group said: “Brisbane already has a great reputation amongst customers. Our focus is on getting to know the team, supporting them through this transition, and getting to grips with what the customers want and need from the business. Like many of our venues, Brisbane House will also host a number of weddings this year, and we’re excited to deliver these special days for our brides and grooms.”

Manorview has a reputation for consistently investing in their properties, having in the last 12 months launched a new swimming pool, opened seven boutique lodges, and renovated a honeymoon suite. “Like any of our properties, I’m sure we will find opportunities to create something wonderful and new for our guests!” says David. “But the short-term plan is very much to focus on the team and ensure consistent quality for our guests throughout this changeover.”

Manorview aspires to bring new benefits to the existing Brisbane team too, through their Living Wage accreditation and profit share scheme. “As an accredited living wage employer, we will be reviewing the team’s rate of pay to ensure everyone is being paid the living wage at a minimum, as this is higher than the national minimum wage.” said David Tracey. “They will also be eligible for our many team perks, will benefit from our extensive training and development opportunities and after 12 months will join our Heartcount scheme, in which we share 10% of our net profits with everyone in the business.”

The sale of Brisbane House Hotel to Manorview Group has already concluded, and the team will be contacting wedding couples and event bookings to reassure them these will go ahead as planned. Any guests who have booked a hotel stay or restaurant reservation should visit as planned, as their previous booking will be honoured.
