Official charity to Liverpool Football Club, the LFC Foundation is attending this year’s Southport Flower Show with an exciting interactive programme of sport, giveaways, its own floral display – and even showstopping iconic silverware.
The LFC Foundation will welcome visitors with family friendly activities, unique experiences, and the opportunity to find out more about its work across Liverpool City Region and beyond.
Visitors of all ages can look forward to a range of family friendly activities, while showcasing the Foundation’s commitment to creating life-changing opportunities through sport.
Southport Flower Show 2026 takes place later this month, running from Thursday 20 August to Sunday 23 August. Show times are 10am to 6pm Thursday to Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
The event is the UK’s largest independent flower show, and organisers are gearing up to welcome more than 50,000 visitors across the four days.
Southport’s 34-acre Victoria Park is home to the annual show. The show sees the park transformed into a horticultural haven bursting with colour, celebrities, live entertainment, a children’s trail, food and drink, and shopping.
A team from the LFC Foundation will attend all four days.
Attractions include a striking 8ft LFC Foundation flowerpot installation complete with free LFC Foundation seed packet giveaways; sports activities including golf and tennis; LFC memorabilia prize draws and mystery boxes; and the chance to support the life-changing work of the charity.
The highlight of the programme will almost certainly be exclusive photo opportunities with the UEFA Champions League trophy – and organisers expect this to be a very popular attraction during the show.
Interactive sports activities will take place on Thursday and Friday only (August 20 and 21).
The LFC Foundation have previously attended Southport Flower Show with a dedicated show garden display in 2023 to highlight mental health awareness.
The aim of the LFC Foundation is to tackle social inequalities by delivering sustainable, long-term programmes to improve health, learning and employability, helping people of all ages and backgrounds to reach their full potential.
Matt Parish, Chief Executive at the LFC Foundation, commented: “We are proud to be returning to Southport Flower Show and playing our part in making this fantastic event even more special. Supporting our communities is at the heart of what we do, and we’re looking forward to welcoming families to join in, have fun, and to learn more about how they can get involved with the work of the Foundation.”
Special guests at this year’s show include Anton Du Beke, Iolo Williams, Megan McCubbin, Su Pollard, Rob Rinder, and Mr Motivator; television garden personalities Adam Frost, Arit Anderson, Joe Swift, and Lee Burkhill; television chefs Phil Vickery, Briony May Williams, and Candice Brown; and children’s entertainers Andy Day and Justin Fletcher.
A packed programme features celebrity guest Q&A sessions in the Garden Theatre hosted by Kevin Duala from BBC Radio Merseyside; live demonstrations in the Cookery Theatre; live music performances on the Piazza Stage; and an outdoor show arena hosting dog display teams, birds of prey, and horse shows.
Alan Adams, General Manager of Southport Flower Show, added: “We are delighted to welcome back the LFC Foundation to Southport Flower Show. The charity’s presence brings a fantastic interactive element to the event, offering unique visitor experiences for all ages – while highlighting its incredible work within communities across the region.
“We’re looking forward to working with the team once again, and we most certainly know their exhibition will be very popular. Seeing people’s genuine excitement when they have their photograph taken with a world-famous football trophy will be a real spectacle.”
Last year’s new family attractions are back due to popular demand. These include alpacas, children’s trail, doodle wall, children’s yoga, and tennis skills. Lakeside Reset is a wellbeing and mindfulness zone, new for this year.
Horticultural highlights include spectacular award-winning show gardens, grand floral marquee, amateur grower and plant society exhibitors, floral art and raised bed displays, bees and honey marquee, and displays from local schools and charities.
This year’s headline sponsor is Ramsay Health Care. Travel partner Merseyrail, and show sponsor Smooth Radio. The Cookery Theatre is sponsored by Nationwide Produce and Viners.
Southport Flower Show is a registered charity. Any profit generated is reinvested into Victoria Park to pay for its maintenance all year round.
Early bird tickets can still be purchased in advance until Wednesday 19 August. Tickets are flexible and can be used on any one of the four days. Entry is free for children under 16 when accompanied by a paying adult.
