Leeds Based Edward Architecture Named Architect Of Year At Tomorrow’s Procurement Festival Of Achievement Awards

Leeds and London-based architectural practice Edward Architecture has been named as Architect of the Year in the Tomorrow’s Procurement Festival of Achievement Awards, a new industry leading event for property, construction and infrastructure leaders.

Celebrating the very best in construction and development, the Festival of Achievement at Tomorrow’s Procurement showcases organisations, individuals and collaboration work on projects which are leading the way in delivering sustainable and inclusive development through a positive procurement process.

Edward Architecture was founded in 2005 by Graham Edward and over the past 18 years the company has grown with 12 employees based in Leeds and London studios.  The practice has established a strong reputation for successful project delivery for clients ranging from regional to national housebuilders, including local authorities, housing associations and main contractors.

The business has enjoyed a broad spectrum of activity working across all stages from land promotion, land-bid planning, tender/construction and on-site stages, including strategic land, urban design, detailed design planning applications and working drawings.

The accolade recognised the growth of the business including its work on more than 100 residential sites, more than 10,000 dwellings with more than 1800 dwellings in planning; 770 dwellings on site and more than 70 different housing clients between June 2021/22.

A number of key projects were highlighted, including the practice’s master planning consultancy on the former 173 acre colliery site in Maltby, Rotherham for Hargreaves Land as well as its planning and construction phase work for 216 bespoke designed homes acting for Your Housing in Openshaw, Manchester.

Edward Architecture was also commissioned by Bromley Council to design 25 affordable and sustainable modular apartments in Chislehurst which used renewable energy sources.  The company also worked with Town Centre Securities PLC on a canal-side scheme in Apperley Bridge for 80 units in a conservation area with the design guide leading to Bradford Council giving the go ahead to demolish and replace a listed building, creating best site value for the market.

Graham Edward, Managing Director, Edward Architecture commented;

“We are delighted to pick up this accolade at a time when the business is seeing strategic growth despite challenging market conditions.  Hundreds of developers, infrastructure organisations, framework operators, policy makers and asset owners gathered at Tomorrow’s Procurement Festival of Achievement over two days for a mixture of thought leadership and sector announcements and we are proud to be named Architect of the Year in front of industry peers.  This is true testament to the resilience and hard work of the entire team.”
