Kirklees Year of Music 2023 to host free webinar discussing how artists can secure gigs and grow their audience

Kirklees Year of Music 2023 is pleased to invite Joe Hubbard from the Futuresound Group to deliver a lecture that will focus on how local artists should approach music promoters to get professional gigs and support slots.

Joe Hubbard is a concert and festival promoter for Futuresound; with over 10 years of experience in the industry and he oversees Live at Leeds festival. He will help attendees network and develop relationships while sharing his experience in the sector and will provide useful advice on ways to build your audiences.

The event will be held virtually on 23rd November 2022, from 6pm to 8pm. It is the first of Kirklees Year of Music 23’s Winter webinars, a collection of seminars that will take place to support and aspire local artists and those working, or wanting a career, in the music industry.

Sarah Hutton, the Year of Music’s music industry coordinator, attended the Webinar earlier this year where Joe delivered his lecture. She says ‘This was a very enlightening and informative lecture. There is a lot I know about promoters and have heard many horror stories and have a couple of my own experiences as well, so it was really refreshing to hear Joe outline areas of good practice that anyone working as a promoter or wanting to enter this area would be wise to adopt.’

‘There is philosophy and attitude that Joe puts forward, where artist and bands are treated like equals and are seen as a part of the wider music ecosystem so should be supported as a such.’
