The largest TikTok Shop livestream event in Europe is set to take place on 27th March, as Oxford Street becomes the stage for an unprecedented retail takeover. Kanzen Studios alongside other brands brings the world of TikTok Shop into the Future Stores physical retail space.
The Future Stores venue will be transformed into a high-energy, live broadcast studio. Kanzen Skincare, alongside six other brands, will host continuous TikTok Shop livestreams – offering hours of shoppable, real-time content directly to online audiences. Passersby can catch the action through the windows, while QR codes on-site provide instant access to the live streams, bringing the experience straight to viewers’ screens.
The event reflects the rapid growth of social commerce in the UK. TikTok says the number of shoppers on TikTok Shop in the UK grew 131% year on year, while UK revenue on the platform rose 180% over the same period. The company also says more than 6,000 TikTok Shop LIVE sessions are now hosted in the UK every day.
The activation represents the largest TikTok Shop livestream event ever staged within a physical retail environment, inviting passers-by to witness the broadcasts in real time through the store’s windows, while thousands of viewers simultaneously tune in online.
The event reflects a growing shift in global retail, where live entertainment, social media and shopping are increasingly merging. In China live commerce has already become a mainstream shopping channel, generating hundreds of billions in annual sales. Western markets are now beginning to embrace the format, with brands turning physical retail spaces into live broadcast studios where creators sell products to online audiences while shoppers watch the action unfold in real life. The Oxford Street takeover signals how this hybrid model of retail may start to emerge in the UK.
“Live shopping is redefining how people discover and buy products online,” said Matthew Bellingham & Päivi Korvela, Directors at Kanzen Studios. “By bringing TikTok Shop livestreaming into a real-world retail space on Oxford Street, we show what the future of shopping looks like, where social media, brands and commerce all come together.”
Engin Celikbas, Managing Director EMEA at Future Stores, said: “Retail spaces are no longer just places to display product. They are becoming platforms for attention, content and conversion. This takeover shows what happens when a storefront becomes a live media channel, and why the next chapter of retail will belong to formats that blend physical presence with digital commerce.”
