EDITORIAL INSIGHT: Context, industry insight and market perspectives of this news story

International expansion by independent brands in the personal care sector often begins with online marketplaces, where barriers to entry are lower and discreet delivery can be prioritised. Luca Bloom’s decision to launch its men’s self-care tool in the UK via Amazon reflects this approach, targeting a market where privacy and ease of access are valued in sensitive product categories.

With further launches planned in North America, the brand is positioning itself to test demand across English-speaking markets. The focus on plain packaging and straightforward purchasing may appeal to consumers seeking discretion, especially as conversations around male intimate care remain limited. For now, the move marks a typical early-stage international step for a new entrant in a niche segment.

Press Release

TOKYO, Japan – 14 October 2026

Six weeks after its founding, the independent brand received its first UK order on 13 October and plans launches in the US, Canada and Mexico in November

Luca Bloom, an independent personal care brand founded in Japan in September 2026, has begun selling its men’s self-care tool in the UK on Amazon.co.uk. The brand received its first order from a UK customer on 13 October 2026, and the order will be dispatched from Japan by international post.

The UK is the first market outside Japan for the brand, which was started by Kei Sato, a former local government employee. Luca Bloom set out to make a product for men’s intimate care that is simple to buy and arrives in plain packaging.

A discreet product for a private subject

“Men’s intimate care is a subject many people find difficult to talk about, so we focused on making the product easy to buy and receive,” said Kei Sato, founder of Luca Bloom. “For the UK, we wrote a new English product page and kept the box plain, with only the brand name printed on it.”

Each box carries a label in English and French stating the product name, quantity, country of manufacture and that the product was assembled, cleaned and inspected in Japan. The tool is made in China. Delivery to the UK usually takes around two weeks.

How the tool works

The tool uses a lead-screw mechanism. Turning the screw changes the gap between two arms, which can be adjusted steplessly up to 70 mm. The arms widen towards the tip, and the body is made of POM (polyoxymethylene), an engineering plastic. It weighs 160 g including the box. Utility model and design applications have been filed in Japan and overseas.

Luca Bloom is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any medical condition. It is intended for adults.

What comes next

Following Japan and the UK, Luca Bloom will launch in the United States, Canada and Mexico in mid-November 2026. In the UK, the product is available on Amazon.co.uk at an introductory price of £42.99 for the first production batch: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0HHXQ1X4C
