Hike Scotland’s Cairngorm Mountains and raise money for the Nimsdai Foundation

The Nimsdai Foundation is excited to announce that it has been selected as the nominated charity for The Mountain March this May (24th to 27th), organised by Nomad Mountaineering and events team It’s Going to Get Hairy.

Founded by ground-breaking mountaineer Nimsdai Purja, the charitable Nimsdai Foundation aims to redefine what is possible through projects that Inspire, Educate and Protect. This year, they will be returning to Everest for the Big Mountain Clean Up and also building a new Porters Lodge at Lobuche on the Everest trail, for the unsung heroes of the mountains, the Porters.

The Scottish Mountain March will be a unique three-day trekking exped, led by experienced mountain leaders across the stunning Cairngorm mountains in Scotland. Tickets for the event are now on sale via: nomad-mountaineering.com

The route covers 21 miles to an elevation of 1,900m and starts at Rothiemurchus Lodge in the heart of the Cairngorms. It then travels on through the Lairgh Ghru mountain pass, up on to the second highest mountain in Britain and well-known Monroe Ben Macdui, and onwards to the famous, and breathtaking, Cairngorm Mountain before descending back to Rothiemurchus Lodge.

Glen Mallen, Executive Director of the Nimsdai Foundation says: “We’re very excited to be working with Nomad Mountaineering and the associated partners of this special event.

“Previously these charitable treks have taken place in the South of England and to be a part of this new route in the awe-inspiring Cairngorm mountains is exactly what the Nimsdai Foundation is all about. We want people who have a passion for hiking and the great outdoors to achieve their new possible. And in what better way than in this stunning location, under the leadership of experienced mountain guides.

“All the money raised will go to supporting our charitable projects like the Big Mountain Clean Up and Porters Lodge. We’d also love to encourage anyone purchasing a ticket to consider asking their friends and family to sponsor them as any donation, large or small will make a big difference to our work.”

There are just 60 package tickets available at £200 each, which include three nights’ accommodation, breakfast, lunches and one dinner, a cold water breathwork session by a Wim Hof instructor and training sessions with a specialist strength and conditioning coach. The Nimsdai Foundation will receive £10 from each ticket sale.

The will also be 140 ‘march only’ tickets available costing £25pp.

Brand partners for It’s Going To Get Hairy, who are involved in the trek are: Elliot Brown watches, Omnia Performance, Resilient Nutrition, NEBO Lights UK, EYRA Clothing, The Mend Project, The Funky Peach, Motorhome Escapes, In2 The Wild, Group Hikes UK, Rubicon People and Lakota Outdoors.
