Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) is celebrating a record year of Level 2 achievement, with students across a wide range of vocational subjects achieving outstanding results and taking important next steps towards their future careers.
A record number of students passed their Level 2 vocational qualifications this year, with an impressive 100% of students securing their qualifications in Creative Media, Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Plumbing, Health and Social Care, Beauty Therapy, and Hospitality and Catering. Nearly all students in Engineering, Automotive, Travel and Tourism, Sport and Public Services also successfully achieved their qualifications.
These achievements provide students with the qualifications, confidence and skills needed to progress to higher-level study, apprenticeships and employment. Students are now well placed to continue their education and training in sectors that are vital to the Worcestershire economy, including engineering, construction, health and social care, hospitality and automotive industries.
Alongside these outstanding vocational results, more than 200 learners achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English, while over 100 learners achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths with many more improving on their previous grade. These results reflect the hard work and dedication of students, supported by the expertise, encouragement and commitment of College staff.
Michelle Dowse, Principal and CEO at HoW College, said: “We’re incredibly proud of every student receiving their results today. The record achievement across our Level 2 vocational programmes is a testament to the dedication of our students and the commitment of our staff. These qualifications open doors to exciting next steps, whether that’s progressing to a higher-level course, securing an apprenticeship or moving directly into employment. Alongside their qualifications, our students develop the skills that employers consistently tell us they value most, including critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration and positive company behaviours, helping them to be successful in their next steps. I would like to congratulate all of our students on their achievements and thank our staff for the support and encouragement they provide throughout every stage of the journey.”
