Headline Sponsor Announced For Inaugural Inspirational Youth Awards

Birmingham City Council has been announced as the headline sponsor for the first Inspirational Youth Awards, which will take place on 29th April at Birmingham’s Eastside Rooms. The event will recognise individuals aged between 16 and 25, who are consistently making an outstanding impact in their local community.

Set to be an annual celebration that puts the next generation in the spotlight, the Inspirational Youth Awards will crown winners in 21* categories who have demonstrated inspirational acts, whether in their daily lives or in the local community.

Birmingham City Council has signed up as Headline Sponsor for the debut event, taking place next month. Leader of Birmingham City Council, Ian Ward, comments:

“I am delighted that Birmingham City Council is supporting the inaugural Inspirational Youth Awards 2023. We are the youngest city in Europe, and one of the most diverse; this is the city’s greatest strength. These awards will give us a chance to celebrate some of the exceptional young people who are making a difference in their communities, and I look forward to attending this wonderful event.”

Nominations are open to anyone aged 16-25 across the West Midlands region, and categories for the event will include Campaigner of the Year, Youth Project of the Year, Fundraiser of the Year, and Outstanding Contribution to the Community, to name a few.

Staffordshire University has also signed up as Diamond Sponsor for the event, in addition to Black Country community organisation, Powered By Can; SEO agency, Bootcamp Media; South & City College Birmingham; West Midlands youth employment charity, Sport 4 Life;  leading music and arts agency, Punch Records; IgniteQuals;  Doug Wright t/a McDonald’s; and BMet, one of the largest further education colleges in the UK, who all join the list of sponsors.

The Inspirational Youth Awards has been launched by BEvents, which delivers some of the region’s most respected awards ceremonies, including Birmingham Awards; Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards; Midlands Property & Investment Awards; and the Women in Tech Awards.

Organisers Ifraz Ahmed and Anita Chumber, Director and Co-Founders of BEvents, adds:

“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Birmingham City Council, Staffordshire University, and our other fantastic partners and sponsors, for the first Inspirational Youth Awards. Without them, we couldn’t host this celebration of passionate and pioneering young people!

At BEvents, our mission is to always deliver events that matter, and the Inspirational Youth Awards is a perfect example of that. We want to highlight the positive influence that our region’s remarkable young people have on society and inspire future generations to become agents of change in their own lives and communities too.

We’ve had some remarkable nominations submitted already and I can’t wait to see who else is put forward over the next few weeks. I implore anyone who knows a change-making, ambitious, and community-driven young person to please recognise them by nominating them for an Inspirational Youth Award.”

Entries for the Inspirational Youth Awards are open until 27 March and once nominations close, members of the public will be encouraged to vote for their favourite nominees, which will account for 25 percent of the final decision during judging day.
