From coffee lovers to beauty gift sets, search data reveals how Irish Christmas shopping is changing
Christmas shopping in Ireland has quietly started — and it looks very different from what we might expect. An analysis of Google search behaviour over the last 90 days (17 September–17 December 2025) reveals that Irish consumers are planning Christmas gifts earlier than ever, moving away from rushed, last-minute purchases and toward more thoughtful, personalised choices. The study was conducted by Giulio Gargiullo, digital marketing and trend analysis expert, using Google Trends data to understand what people in Ireland are really looking for this Christmas.
Some searches aren’t just growing — they’re exploding. Among the most talked-about Breakout searches are presents for coffee lovers, men’s Christmas gifts, Christmas gifts for her, secret Santa gift ideas, Christmas present ideas 2025, alongside a strong surge in beauty gift sets, including BPerfect, CeraVe, KASH Beauty and Ella & Jo. Instead of gadgets or expensive tech, self-care, beauty and lifestyle gifts are emerging as the real stars of Christmas 2025.
One of the biggest surprises in the data is the dominance of beauty and skincare gift sets, with searches for Sanctuary Spa gift sets (+4,050%), Sculpted by Aimee gift set (+1,300%), Clarins gift set (+750%) and Lynx gift set (+500%) rising sharply. These are gifts that feel luxurious but safe, personal without being risky — perfect for partners, friends and family alike.
Searches also show that gifting is becoming more relationship-focused. Queries such as presents for mum, boyfriend Christmas gifts, Christmas gifts for men, secret Santa gifts, white elephant gift and Etsy gift card are all climbing fast.“People aren’t searching for ‘a gift’ anymore — they’re searching for the right gift for a specific person,” explains Giulio Gargiullo. “That tells us Christmas is becoming more intentional, less stressful and more meaningful.”
Interest is spread across the country, with high relative search activity in Cork, Derrinturn, Rush, Coolaney, Thurles, Ratoath and Ashbourne, showing that Christmas excitement — and online shopping — is happening everywhere, not just in big cities.Methodological note: “Interest by city” reflects relative popularity, not total search volume.
