In its commitment to strengthening operational efficiency and advancing digital capability, Fiji Airports has partnered with Australian digital transformation consultancy CG TECH to deliver a major corporate digital transformation programme aimed at modernising and enhancing its business systems.

The programme focuses on transforming systems and processes across key business functions, including finance, human resources, asset management, project management, and safety management.

Fiji Airports Chief Executive, Mesake Nawari, said this move represents an important step in supporting the organisation’s long-term growth, ensuring the company remains resilient, efficient, and future-ready in a rapidly evolving aviation environment.

“This is also done in line with our 10-year strategic plan; the digitalisation and transition of our systems, which is expected to bring significant financial and efficiency benefits to service delivery at Fiji Airports,” Mr Nawari said.

“Success for us means having a fully integrated set of business systems that support finance, procurement, contracts and HR, operations and project management so we can access reliable information when we need it, wherever we are, and make better, evidence-based decisions on real-time data.

“We also want to use technology, including AI, to go deeper into the data we have so our executive team can address challenges faster and make informed decisions.”

The digital transformation programme is focused on moving Fiji Airports towards a modern digital workplace where information is captured once, managed securely, and made available through trusted systems that support decision-making at all levels of the organisation. It aims at strengthening our data analytics process and providing a high-performance digital platform that aims to take our business performance to the next level.

“Just as importantly, we need to move away from paper-based processes and manual data entry where systems can do that work more effectively,” Mr Nawari said.

“This is not only about efficiency. It is about enabling our people to focus on problem-solving and work that genuinely adds value.”

Fiji Airports and CG TECH have commenced the programme with an initial phase focused on discovery, stakeholder engagement, current-state assessment and requirements definition.

This phase will establish a clear future-state direction and a practical roadmap to support procurement and implementation planning, and will include an enterprise-wide review of systems and business processes, with a strong focus on how information is exchanged between corporate systems and broader business functions.

This will help ensure future platforms are designed to work together, with the right data available to the right people at the right time.

CG TECH will also work closely with Fiji Airports to establish clear governance and decision-making arrangements for the programme, including stage gates to support structured delivery and effective risk management.

Carlos Garcia, Chief Executive Officer at CG TECH, said the programme is designed to provide clarity and confidence through complex change.

“Our role is to help leadership teams make well-informed decisions, reduce risk, and move forward with confidence as technology and ways of working evolve. We value partnerships like this where there is a clear focus on communication, capability and supporting people through transformation.” Mr Garcia said.

“Large-scale transformation requires clear governance, strong decision-making and a practical delivery model. We are pleased to be working with Fiji Airports’ leadership team to establish a foundation that supports both immediate priorities as well as their long-term capability and vision.”

Mr Nawari said that while technology is an enabler, the real value comes when leaders can access reports on demand, make timely, objective decisions, and continuously improve how the organisation operates.

The long-term vision includes creating a strong foundation for analytics and AI by ensuring data is captured in structured, connected systems.

This will support improved reporting, trend analysis, predictive analytics, and proactive risk identification through alerts and traceability.

The partnership places a strong focus on adoption and capability uplift, ensuring people across the organisation are supported through proactive communication, training and practical guidance as new systems and ways of working are introduced.

“To achieve this, we recognise the need for training and capability uplift across the business, supporting different generations of employees through transformation, and ensuring we adopt best-practice ways of working,” Mr Nawari said.

In addition to systems uplift, the programme will support organisational readiness by addressing the practical impacts of transformation, including the transition away from paper-based processes and the introduction of new digital tools.

“This programme will strengthen traceability, auditability and risk management through better integration, clearer reporting and proactive alerts, ensuring Fiji Airports is well positioned for sustainable growth,” Mr Nawari added.
