Expanding team gives Midlands sustainability consultancy green light to growth

A rapidly growing sustainability consultancy based in the West Midlands has appointed a new Non-Executive Director (NED) and a Junior Sustainability Consultant as it presses ahead with ambitious expansion plans.

Wylde Connections has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Anne Wilkinson as NED who joins the company with over three decades of experience in senior leadership roles working with global multinational and SME organisations as a director, executive coach, consultant and mentor.

Wilkinson will play a key role in the development of Wylde’s digital growth strategy with the launch of an online portfolio of sustainability strategy consultancy services, and sustainable leadership learning and development programmes. This will enable Wylde to assist more companies across wider geographical boundaries, and to reach new markets in response to a growing demand for its services.

Managing Director of Wylde Connections Denise Taylor said: “These services are an exciting addition to our tailor-made strategic consultancy, training and stakeholder engagement programmes for companies looking for support from qualified experts with real-world business experience to develop their sustainability strategy.”

Wilkinson is joined at the company by a second new appointment, Junior Sustainability Consultant Callum John. John completed a placement year with the business while studying at Aston University’s Business School following an introduction to the firm through Sustainability West Midlands. John’s initial focus will be to strengthen the development of Wylde’s new app: Enveglas – a sustainability impact assessment tool due for launch in 2023.

Wylde’s new appointments bolster the existing team of sustainability experts helping clients to develop and implement their sustainability plans including establishing Greenhouse Gas baseline emissions, managing sustainable supply chains, delivering change management programmes, and carrying out stakeholder engagement.

The expansion further positions the company to accelerate its ambitious plan for growth, with the recent launch of its latest 6-week live tutor-led online programme ‘ Sustainability Strategy: The Fundamentals’, a practical course for business leaders and newly appointed sustainability managers who want to deepen their understanding about sustainability strategy, learn new skills and produce a sustainability strategy and action plan to meet the demands of customers, supply chains and stakeholders to provide sustainability credentials. Taylor commented: “Anne and Callum bring with them the additional experience, skills and capacity to help us grow further and continue to develop our sustainability proposition for businesses who are looking for help from experienced business experts.

“We know there is support and learning available from academic and business support organisations but there is very little available from experienced businesspeople like us who are also qualified experts. Our clients really value that we understand their world and the wider financial and commercial impact of decisions. We want to help companies have a positive impact on the planet. Being more sustainable is not just about net-zero and being less bad, it’s about becoming net-positive and having an impact where you give back more than you take away.”
