A Chester-based executive search firm is eyeing further growth after bolstering its team and winning a national award.
Sherrington Associates, which has enjoyed a buoyant 18 months winning new contracts and securing additional work from existing clients, has also restructured a key role internally and aligned its mission with sustainable leadership.
The recruitment specialist, which focuses on senior and mid-level vacancies across the UK, is also hopeful of earning B-Corp accreditation in the coming weeks to show its commitment to people and the planet.
Sherrington Associates managing director Rob McKay points to a combination of market confidence as well as the road to net zero as the catalyst for the business’ achievements.
He said: “We’re seeing an increase in senior level recruitment, as well as building new sales teams across multiple sectors as organisations look to expand into different territories and industries.
“We’ve also seen firms diversifying to offer low carbon solutions, and we are being tasked with finding the right senior leaders to deliver this.”
“As a result of our growth, and with one eye on the future, we’ve appointed Brogan Craine as an executive researcher following roles in the property sector and the NHS.
“In addition, Joe Onions, who joined us in 2021 and this year was a finalist for young business person of the year at the High Sheriff’s Awards for Enterprise, will now head up our recruitment of sales personnel.
“Our awards success also includes scooping the people centred leadership prize at the national Good Small Business Awards. This was a massive achievement and testament to the graft and professionalism shown by the team.”
Sherrington Associates, which moved to its current base on Watergate Street in the middle of the city to facilitate growth, has also revealed a new mission and will be launching a framework in the autumn.
Rob added: “We focus on partnering with brands, but instead of simply filling holes or gaps, we aim to create cultures of sustainable leaders. In our minds, these are people who, for example, are inspirational, future-focused leaders who can foster engagement around a meaningful purpose in their teams.
“Our mission of influencing sustainable leadership was born out of this belief.
“To strengthen this message and our offering to customers, we have worked with a top UK professor to develop a framework which will assess candidates based on a number of indicators such as traits, knowledge, skills, and leadership style.
“We will roll this out in September and are looking forward to seeing the impact this will have on companies across the UK.”
