Europa Road Boosts Efficiency with New Technology

Europa Road, the road freight division of Europa Worldwide Group, has announced its adoption of Microlise — the cutting-edge telematics and fleet management solution.

This strategic transition from an internal management solution to Microlise reinforces Europa Road’s position as an innovator, utilising technology to streamline its services.

The new state-of-the-art telematics solution replaces several legacy systems for the 53 truck and 260 trailers domestic fleet operation and will offer a comprehensive suite of tools. These will provide not only improved operational efficiency but increased traceability, supporting customer service.

For vehicles, the software will also include guides for suitable conditions, real-time telematics, driver scoring metrics, and a four-camera platform for incident management. All of these are integral parts of Europa’s ambition, to achieve DVSA Earned Recognition status.

One of Europa’s core priorities is focused around investing in advanced technology, particularly considering accelerated digital transformation across the logistics sector.

The Microlise technology can also assist operators to monitor brake rollers. With a recommended frequency of four times a year, the in-truck Microlise system will evaluate loaded weight against stopping distance, providing valuable insights into whether brakes require further testing or are suitable for continued use.

Malcolm Castle, General Manager for Domestic Transport at Europa Road, commented: “Integrating Microlise technology into our fleet operations demonstrates our ongoing commitment and investment in both driver and vehicle standards.

“This software is best in-class technology and helps to provide enhanced safety and efficiency for both our drivers on the road, and our operations team.

“We are committed to rewarding drivers for their adherence to safety and efficient fuel usage, and with this platform we can continue to recognise those that are going above and beyond.”

Speaking on Europa’s adoption of Microlise, Nadeem Raza, CEO, said: “We are delighted to be working with Europa Road, supporting its ambitious growth plans and helping the company to stay ahead of the technology curve.

“Our cutting-edge telematics and fleet management solution provides Europa with the tools it needs to enhance safety and efficiency, empowering drivers to maintain the highest driving standards while optimising its fleet’s performance.”

Europa Worldwide Group is an ambitious independent logistics operator with three divisions, Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, and Europa Warehouse, and has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years.
