Makana.com’s first-year trading update provides a snapshot of how digital platforms are reshaping the used heavy equipment market in the UAE and beyond. Dubai, UAE - October 11, 2026

Makana.com, the online used heavy equipment marketplace based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, has completed its first year of trading after selling 100 machines to buyers in nine countries. The anniversary fell on September 1, 2026, and the company has set out its first-year results covering sales, consignments and auctions.

In the twelve months to September 1, a total of 314 machines were consigned to Makana by 17 sellers, made up of construction contractors, fleet operators and equipment dealers. The combined value of the consigned equipment was more than AED 60 million.

Machines sold during the year included 17 skid steer loaders, five wheel loaders, four boom loaders and one Komatsu PC850 long boom excavator. Skid steer loaders, which are compact machines used for digging, lifting and moving material on building sites, formed the largest single group among these.

The company sells equipment on behalf of owners through a consignment arrangement. Where relevant, each machine is inspected and tested before it is listed, and buyers can review an inspection report of more than 75 checkpoints, operational video, specifications and 3D views. Owners who use Makana’s consignment service are paid within three to five days of a sale being completed.

Alongside fixed-price listings, Makana held four online auctions in its first year. A number of buyers and sellers took part in more than one of these events. The company’s fifth auction opened for bidding on October 1, 2026.

Makana said demand for used equipment is spread across several regions, with buyers for a single machine potentially located in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Africa or Asia. The company plans to continue holding regular auctions during its second year.

Makana.com is an online marketplace for used heavy equipment, based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
