Swindon, 08/11/2024 – Love after heartbreak? A revealing new survey by Divorce-Online.co.uk dives deep into the world of post-divorce dating, uncovering surprising stats about emotional readiness, app mishaps, and the never-ending search for ‘the one.’
The survey of 200 freshly divorced individuals shows just how tricky it can be to swipe right after calling it quits. From jumping back into the dating pool to navigating Tinder nightmares, here’s what the UK’s divorcees had to say.
Who’s Ready to Date After Divorce?
- 22% of divorcees wasted no time and started dating immediately after their divorce.
- 32%? Still too emotionally wrecked to even think about romance.
- The rest waited anywhere from 1 month to over a year before giving love another shot.
Dating Apps: Love Them or Hate Them?
More than half (53.7%) of respondents admitted to dabbling in dating apps, but the reviews are… mixed.
Top Dating Apps for Divorcees:
- Bumble – 38%
- Tinder – 36%
- Hinge – 28%
The Verdict?
- Only 12.7% loved their app experience.
- 19.6% were downright fed up.
- And the rest? Somewhere in the middle, struggling with fake profiles, time wasters, and mismatched intentions.
One respondent vented, “I just want to find my best friend, but all I get are people looking for hookups. Where are the decent ones hiding?”
The Struggle is Real
Beyond swiping, balancing dating with work and parenting is a major hurdle.
- A single mum shared: “Between kids and my job, who has the time to date?”
- Another confessed: “My work hours are insane, so apps are my only option, but it’s a minefield out there.”
Mark Keenan Spills the Truth
“Dating after divorce isn’t easy—it’s a rollercoaster of resilience and hope,” says Mark Keenan, CEO of Divorce-Online.co.uk. “Our survey shows that while apps can help, they often come with their own headaches, especially for those juggling work and family. We hope these findings inspire dating platforms to step up their game!”
