Daniel Schmitt & Co. Classic Car Gallery in St. Louis announces it has acquired another piece of a Hollywood legend, a rare 1957 Dual-Ghia Convertible once owned by Frank Sinatra’s production company. The vehicle was purchased and gifted to his one-time wife and lifelong friend, actress Ava Gardner.
The vehicle was one of only 117 produced. It was manufactured by Eugene Casaroll, owner of Dual Motors Corporation in Detroit. Casaroll had US-built Dodge frames and drivetrains sent to Ghia in Italy. Ghia then shortened the chassis, handcrafted and fitted the swooping bodywork and luxurious interior, and sent the partially completed vehicles back to Dual Motors. Only 34 Dual-Ghia Convertibles are believed to still exist and remain well-regarded for their stunning design and impressive comfort.
The Sinatra-owned vehicle has undergone a comprehensive show-quality restoration and is investment-grade. It has won multiple awards at prestigious events such as the Palos Verde and Greystone Mansion Concours d-Elegance. The car was also featured in the 1992 TV series, “Sinatra”, and displayed previously at the famed Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

The Dual-Ghia Convertible is now available for viewing and sale at Daniel Schmitt & Co. in St. Louis. The asking price is $349,900.
