Cricket Star, Fi Morris, Teams Up With Mintridge Foundation & Active Digital To Help Schools Hit For The Stars

The Mintridge Foundation, a leading charity that harnesses the power of positive sporting role models to enhance the lives of young people, has relaunched its charity partnership with Active Digital, with a collaboration with England cricketer Fi Morris.

The return of the partnership has seen the pair call for applications from across the country to receive an exclusive visit and inspirational talk from Fi Morris.

Fi Morris, who has represented England in both the T20 and One Day International formats, is a passionate advocate for physical activity and wellbeing.

Open to all schools across the UK, schools have the chance to be entered into an online competition to receive a free visit from Thunder Cricket’s Fi Morris, who will visit, inspire and motivate students to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. As part of her visit to the winning school, she will share her experiences as a professional athlete, deliver coaching sessions and classroom visits across half a day in school.

Research commissioned by Continental Tyres, an official partner of the England Lionesses, revealed that around 60% of girls aged between 11 to 17 believe that having an inspirational role model was the best way to kickstart a sporting journey.

Adding to this, founder and Managing Director of The Mintridge Foundation, Alex Wallace, said:

“Sport has the power to change lives, and we believe that every young person should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of physical activity, so we are delighted to relaunch our partnership with Active Digital 2023 challenge, and to have Fi Morris on board to inspire and motivate young people across the country.

“This opportunity will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy for the chosen school’s students, kickstart a healthy sporting journey, or help nurture an existing pathway. By giving people the confidence to move, they will find the confidence to shine and overcome life’s challenges.”

Jo Wimble, Business Director at Active Digital, commented:

“We are delighted to be partnering with The Mintridge Foundation for this fantastic opportunity. Active Digital has long had a close connection to sport, through the variety of clients that we service in our telecoms sector. We see and recognise the importance of role models in sport for young people. This cements our commitment to support this campaign.

“Working alongside Mintridge and seeing the great work that they do is why we have chosen The Mintridge Foundation to be our charity partner of the year. Please do enter your school and make this competition the best it can be. Good luck!”

Harnessing the power of positive sporting role models, The Mintridge Foundation has been providing school children across the country with long-term mentorship to nurture their talents and wellbeing through sports since 2015. To date, The Mintridge Foundation has supported 197 schools and clubs to deliver 400 bespoke programmes, reaching thousands of young people across the country.

To be in for a chance to win the visit from Fi Morris, individuals will need to nominate a school on The Mintridge Foundations website before the 8th of May.
