CIRO announces speakers ahead of Rail Ops conference

The Chartered Institute of Railway Operators is proud to host its third Rail Ops conference on 6th June.

The largest learning conference in rail will once again offer free access to a host of CPD and learning resources for rail industry professionals.

Expert speakers have been handpicked to present on current topics aligning with the Professional Operators Development (POD) framework. This ensures that attending Rail Ops 2023 contributes directly to the CPD of attendees.

In addition to the lineup of industry leaders, representatives from CIRO will also be available through the day for tailored information and advice in virtual booths. Each of the presentations will deliver insightful and thought-provoking content.

Confirmed speakers include:

Toufic Machnouk, Programme Director – East Coast Digital Programme

Jim Meade, Chief Executive Officer – Irish Rail

Maggie Simpson, Director General – Rail Freight Group

Ellie Burrows, Regional Managing Director – Network Rail

Howard Smith, Director – Elizabeth line

Claire Mann, Managing Director – South Western Railway

Chris Curtis, Director, Industry PMO & Network Performance – Network Rail

Rachel Heath, Head of Operations Delivery Wales & Borders – Network Rail

Rufus Boyd, Programme Director Passenger & Freight Services – Great British Railways Transition Team

After registering to the event, available for free here, attendees will be able to download a planning guide which lets them maximise the conference experience. This guide lets you cross reference a simple self-assessment document to highlight knowledge gaps and to identify the best presentations to attend.

CEO of the Chartered Institute of Rail Operators, Fiona Tordoff, said: “We created the Rail Ops Conference as an accessible avenue for our members and rail professionals to easily further their CPD.

“We always aim for the widest variety of content from expert speakers which maximises its value from a CPD perspective. The speakers at this event are big names within the industry and we are looking forward to hearing the comments from industry leaders.”
