Electronic music pioneer Chicane is heading to Sheffield on 7th Nov for a special daytime event at Electric Studios, as the city’s newest music venue continues to build momentum following a successful first few months.
Since opening its doors in March 2026, Electric Studios has quickly established itself as a major addition to Sheffield’s music landscape. Thousands of people have attended events at the refurbished city centre venue, with audiences responding positively to its mix of live music, club culture and grassroots artists.
The announcement continues a strong run of bookings for Electric Studios, which has quickly established itself as a home for both live music and club culture. Since opening, the venue has welcomed artists and events including Wilkinson, Camo and Krooked, Culture Shock, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Ross From Friends, Jeremy Underground, Faster Horses, Paige Tomlinson, Dr Banana, Call Super, Sully and Samurai Breaks. Working with established promoters and local collectives, the venue has already hosted events spanning drum and bass, reggae, dub, house, techno, garage and alternative electronic music.
The venue’s live programme has already generated significant demand. Both The Levellers and St Etienne have sold out months in advance, while forthcoming appearances from artists including The Lathums, Boyce Avenue, The Lemonheads, We Are Scientists, Devlin, Goldie Lookin Chain, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Overpass, Reef, Joshua Idehen and Barenaked Ladies underline the breadth of the venue’s programming.
Particular interest has surrounded rising indie favourites Overpass, whose Sheffield date on 6 November 2026 is now close to selling out following the band’s recent chart success. Their
latest EP Dependent reached Number 6 in the Official UK Independent Albums Chart, capping a breakthrough period that has seen the Birmingham four piece emerge as one of the UK’s most exciting new guitar bands.
Now the venue has announced one of electronic music’s most influential names for a special daytime event on Saturday 7 November 2026.
Rather than a traditional late night club show, Chicane’s Sheffield appearance will take place as a day party, offering fans the chance to experience the soundtrack of Ibiza’s golden era in a format that has become increasingly popular across the UK. With music running through the afternoon and into the evening, the event promises all the atmosphere of a classic dance event without the small hours finish.
For more than two decades, Chicane has been synonymous with Ibiza sunsets, Balearic sounds and melodic electronic music. Widely regarded as one of the defining artists of the trance era, his breakthrough track Offshore helped shape a generation of dance music, while Saltwater became a global anthem that remains a fixture on dancefloors around the world.
Worldwide success followed with Don’t Give Up, his chart topping collaboration with Bryan Adams from the album Behind the Sun. The single reached number one in the UK and helped cement Chicane’s place as one of the most successful electronic artists of his generation.
Alongside his work as an artist, Chicane has collaborated with and produced music for an extraordinary range of performers including Cher, Sir Tom Jones, William Orbit and Natasha Bedingfield, while also composing music for film and television.
The Sheffield event will offer fans a rare opportunity to experience an extended Chicane performance in an intimate setting, bringing together classic tracks, deep cuts and the Balearic sound that has defined his career.
The months ahead continue that momentum, with major live dates from The Lathums, Boyce Avenue, The Lemonheads, We Are Scientists, Reef and Barenaked Ladies, alongside club and crossover events featuring artists such as Devlin, Goldie Lookin Chain, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Overpass and Joshua Idehen. With their Sheffield show nearing capacity and national profile continuing to rise, Overpass is expected to be one of the standout dates of the autumn programme.
With sold out shows already under its belt and a growing reputation among artists and audiences alike, Electric Studios is quickly becoming one of Sheffield’s most exciting new cultural venues.
