CamperKing, the UK’s largest supplier of Volkswagen-based campervans, based in Warmington, near Banbury, is celebrating being named Campervan Converter of the Year by Campervan Magazine in its inaugural industry awards.
The award was voted for by members of the public, and was run by Warners Group Publications, publishers of the popular camping and leisure titles Campervan, What Motorhome, Caravan, Camping and Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly (MMM).
CamperKing’s win was formally announced on 19th October, during the annual Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC. It was the only public vote included in these inaugural awards, with the remaining categories being judged by renowned journalists from the magazine titles.
Spencer Grey, CamperKing’s owner, and MD, said: “This is a testament to all the hard work we’ve put in over the last few years to show that what we’re doing is worthy of attention. We want to show people that the campervan buying experience can be different and that you should have manufacturer-style service and warranty backup along with a great campervan to enjoy holidays and days out with.
“The fact the public, many of them our customers and long-term owners, have been so willing to vote for us in these awards makes it all worth it and just shows we are offering something that people truly value and appreciate.”
The judges, in their summary, wrote: “It’s commendable that, even in these tough times of supply issues and more, campervan converters, whether that’s the big manufacturers or the smaller firms, continue to innovate and listen to customers when designing new models and features.”
The awards, the only campervan awards in the UK leisure vehicle industry, were created earlier this year and voting was open until September 18.
