The Black Mountain Center for the Arts invites the community to celebrate Mother’s Day with creativity and connection at an upcoming watercolor workshop led by local artist Melanie. The Mother’s Day Watercolor Workshop: Create Heartfelt Spring Flower Cards will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the very first time or you’re a seasoned artist, this workshop is designed to welcome all ages and skill levels. Melanie will guide beginners through each step of the process while encouraging more experienced painters to explore their own creative vision — all in a warm, supportive environment.
Participants will receive a brief introduction to watercolor techniques with a focus on painting spring flowers, working from a beautiful floral still life provided on-site. Each attendee will leave with three completed, hand-painted greeting cards with envelopes — a one-of-a-kind gift that mom will treasure far longer than a store-bought card.
“This is the perfect opportunity to paint a unique card to surprise your mom on Mother’s Day — or bring her along and try something new together,” says workshop instructor Melanie.
All art supplies are included, among them premium watercolor paints, brushes, pencils, pens, cards, and envelopes. Participants need only bring their enthusiasm.
