Housebuilder Bellway has made a £300 contribution towards the horticultural events at this year’s Poynton Show.
A highlight in the village’s annual events calendar, the Poynton Show is one of the North West’s largest horticultural and agricultural gatherings and takes place at Poynton Show Ground on South Park Drive on the Saturday of the August bank holiday every year.
Located close to Bellway’s Copperfields development on Dickens Lane, the housebuilder was pleased to support the show making a contribution towards the costs of publicity and promotion of the show, plus computerised schedule preparation and prize money.
Member of the Poynton Horticultural Committee, Bryan Doherty, commented: “We are incredibly grateful to Bellway for its kind donation towards the show; there has been a show in Poynton since 1885 and donations from individuals and businesses are vital to its continued success.”
As a thank you, Bryan Doherty and Poynton Horticultural Committee chairman Ken Carr, used their expertise to create and install two stunning new planters for Bellway; overflowing with bright floral impatiens, petunias, antirrhinums and cineraria, the large planters have pride of place outside the sales office at Copperfields.
