Husband-and-wife Americana act brings full band to the Gale Jackson Theatre in celebration of new album ‘Heirloom’ Award-winning folk and Americana act Admiral Radio will return to the stage at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts (BMCA) on Friday, October 23, 2026, for a high-energy concert at 7:30 p.m. Hosted in the historic Gale Jackson Theatre at 225 West State Street, the South Carolina–based duo will bring a full backing band to deliver a lively evening of rich vocal harmonies, roots storytelling, and classic bluegrass flavors. The upcoming performance serves as a showcase for Admiral Radio’s evolving sound as they tour behind their Nashville-released album Heirloom on Too Fine Records.

Created by husband-and-wife musicians Coty Hoover and Becca Smith, Admiral Radio—named after their old wooden radio—blends timeless, vintage-inspired Americana with modern lyrical depth. Performing with a full band configuration allows the duo to expand their signature acoustic dynamic into a broader live experience tailored for intimate regional arts centers.

Admiral Radio’s rising profile in the roots music scene is backed by significant critical acclaim, including competition honors from the prestigious Kerrville NewFolk competition, the MerleFest Band Competition, the Tucson Folk Festival, and the Cayamo Soundcheck contest. Individual recognition has also followed the group’s core members, with Becca Smith previously named “Best Singer-Songwriter” by the Charleston City Paper.

“I experienced Admiral Radio at my former theatre on Tybee Island,” states Evan Goetz, Executive Director of the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. “I’m thrilled they’ll be gracing our stage to share their joyful music with our Swannanoa Valley community.”

Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime at 7:00 p.m. General admission seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
