A&T Trained Dogs have extended their luxury doggy hotel, ‘The Heronswood Canine Retreat’ in Lancaster to become the largest 5 star dog hotel in the UK.
The luxury doggy hotel, which is unique in the UK, is structured differently to traditional kennels. The kennels are more like Hotel Suites at Heronswood Canine Retreat, with 4 poster beds, classical music playing, full length Aluminium and glass doors, calming lavender scent automatically diffused throughout the day and underfloor heated tiled floors; mimicking a room or porch in a house rather than a traditional kennel feel.
The retreat comes with all the 5 star perks of a human equivalent hotel, with foods that are prepared by a professional doggy-chefs, luxury bedding and toys and pick-up and drop-off services. All Kennels are individually climate controlled with both heating and AC and are 40% larger than regulation kennels. The dogs don’t face each other in the kennels which means the facility is calm and quiet with zero stress.
The purpose-built boarding kennels enable the team to adjust the environment to each individual pet’s needs. Outside are both concrete and grass areas for walks and off lead play. Each dog also receives professional care from a dedicated team of dog lovers and dog trainers and fifteen acres of delightful Lancashire countryside to enjoy.
Top level care is on offer for every dog that stays at Heronswood, with A&T expert trainers and behaviourists on site at all times. Every staff member present is Level 3 and above in animal welfare and there is also a first aid instructor and veterinary nurse onsite at all times.
The set-up is perfect for dogs who may be nervous or have issues with reactivity or aggression. When checking in a new dog or returning a dog to its owner, the kennel staff will never have to walk a dog past more than 2 kennels due to the multiple entry doors (8 access doors at different locations per block of 10 suites). This significantly reduces disturbance and keeps stress levels in the kennels to a minimum for all dogs staying at Heronswood.
The high quality luxury dog boarding kennels are housed in over 15 acres of countryside with woodland areas, a large lake and different livestock present to enhance training.
