The company has not only brought some of the most influential international artists and ensembles to Asia but has also championed Chinese voices, works, and creators on the global stage, contributing to the international cultural narrative. The 2026 season reinforces this mission, presenting a meticulously selected “Armstrong’s Select” lineup that spans classical traditions and innovative collaborations.
Five Series, A Universe of Artistic Expression
- Maestro Series: A tribute to the great masters of music, inviting world-renowned pianists, violinists, and vocalists to perform in China. Confirmed artists include piano legend Mikhail Pletnev (1978 Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medalist, Grammy Award winner); conductor David Stern (Music Director of Palm Beach Opera); violin and viola master Pinchas Zukerman (two-time Grammy winner); classical guitar virtuoso Pablo Sáinz-Villegas (first guitarist in nearly 40 years to perform with the Berlin Philharmonic); clarinet master Michel Lethiec (Artistic Director of the Pablo Casals Festival); pianist Dmitri Alexeev (1975 Leeds Competition winner); soprano Angela Gheorghiu (international opera superstar); pianist Michel Dalberto (acclaimed Schubert interpreter); and pianist Barry Douglas (1986 Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medalist), among others.
- Young Waves Series: Showcasing the energy and talent of a new generation of artists who are reshaping the classical music scene. Featured artists include violinist Ray Chen (Gold Medalist at the Menuhin and Queen Elisabeth competitions, DG recording artist) and young pianist Tianxu An (Special Prize winner at the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition).
- Top Feast Series: Presenting grand symphonic masterpieces with world-class orchestras. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will tour with conductor Vasily Petrenko and violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. They will be joined by the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, bringing the rich heritage of European musical tradition to Chinese audiences.
- Chamber Voices Series: Revealing the pure essence of chamber music. The Wind Rabbit Chamber Choir and the legendary Academy of St Martin in the Fields (with Music Director Joshua Bell) will perform, offering refined choral and instrumental artistry that bridges classical and contemporary repertoire.
- Dance & Vision Series: Redefining stage imagination through跨界 collaborations. Ballet superstar Svetlana Zakharova will join violinist Vadim Repin and principal dancers of the Bolshoi Theatre to present Chanel: The Legend and Pas de Deux for Toes and Fingers. Switzerland’s Compagnia Finzi Pasca will bring its poetic visual theatre work The Dream of Venice, and the official live production of Now You See Me, authorized by the Hollywood film, will make its Chinese debut, offering an immersive magic spectacle.
