AMVETS Thrift Store Announces Grand Opening of New Location in New Castle, PA New store will support veteran services through community donations and sales, with a celebration featuring food from Got Your Sixx, giveaways, and door prizes.
NEW CASTLE, PA – November 13, 2025 – AMVETS NSF (American Veterans National Service Foundation) is proud to announce the grand opening of its new thrift store in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The celebration will begin at 09:00 AM EST on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the store’s new location, 1730 Wilmington Road, New Castle PA 16105.
The grand opening event is open to the public and will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attendees can enjoy food from the locally renowned Got Your Sixx food truck, which will be serving on-site. The celebration will also include numerous giveaways, door prizes for lucky shoppers, and exclusive discounts.
This new location expands AMVETS’s mission in Pennsylvania, providing the community with high-quality, low-cost clothing, jewelry, household goods, and electronics. More importantly, the store serves as a critical source of funding for AMVETS programs, both locally and nationally. Every donation and purchase made at the New Castle AMVETS directly supports AMVETS’s mission of “Veterans Serving Veterans.”
Proceeds from the store’s sales fund a wide range of vital services for Veterans and their families. These programs include:
- National Service Officers (NSOs):A corps of AMVETS-trained experts who provide free assistance to Veterans and their dependents, helping them “cut the red tape” and navigate the complex VA benefits and compensation claims process. This service is free to all veterans and their families, and you do not need to be an AMVETS member to receive assistance.
- Scholarships:Annual scholarships awarded to Veterans and their dependents to help them achieve their educational goals. These include traditional academic scholarships as well as vocational scholarships for skilled trades.
- VA Voluntary Service (VAVS):A nationwide network of volunteers who dedicate their time to serving at VA health care facilities. This includes initiatives like the “Because We Care Day,” where volunteers distribute personal care kits to hospitalized and disabled Veterans.
- Americanism Programs:Initiatives that work to educate youth on America’s history and instill a sense of national pride and patriotism, such as awarding JROTC medals and supporting the Freedoms Foundation.
