NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

Acrisure Nottingham, formerly Russell Scanlan, has invested in business growth with a set of promotions and hires across its private client and commercial teams.

The West Bridgford based insurance brokers has promoted Bridget Knowles and George Fox-Smith to Commercial Account Executives, and brought in Ed Hall as a Private Client Account Handler. It comes at a pivotal moment for the business, which recently adopted the Acrisure name.

Bridget joined legacy business Russell Scanlan in 2001, following a successful career at General Accident (now Aviva), starting in The Midlands and moving to its London and then Northwest office as a Bonus Executive.

Having been part of the business for more than 25 years, handling a portfolio of commercial clients, her new role is a natural next step – backed by her proven by her exemplary track record of client care.

Bridget said: “I’m incredibly proud to be stepping into this new position as well as marking 25 years of service. While technology has transformed dramatically since I started my career in 1987, my commitment to looking after my clients with the same care and attention certainly hasn’t. I can’t wait to see what the next few years have in store at Acrisure Nottingham, and to be taking on further responsibility within the business.”

George joined the business eight years ago as a Private Client Account Handler, providing bespoke personal policies and claims support for high-net-worth clients. He later moved across to its commercial team as an Account Handler in 2021. In his new role, he will be working alongside a range of businesses from SMEs to large corporates, with a focus on technology and media. He will also take on a wider role within Acrisure UK Broking, as Cyber & Technology Product Champion, supporting the development and promotion of cyber and technology insurance propositions.

George said: “Following almost a decade working across our private client and commercial teams, stepping up to Commercial Account Executive is the next step in my professional development. I’m also thrilled to be taking on a wider role within Acrisure – a brilliant opportunity to apply my skillset to benefit our growing client bases across the UK.”

The Acrisure Nottingham team is also investing in new talent. Following a successful few months interning with the private client team, Ed joins the business as a Private Client Account Handler, preparing and processing insurance documentation, managing client queries as well handling policy renewals and ensuring the optimal products are offered.

With a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Exeter, Ed’s strong academic background and positive attitude to development make him a strong addition to the team.

Speaking on his appointment, he said: “It’s great to be a part of a fantastic team, and a company which boasts a long and successful history. My commitment to client service, integrity, and building relationships strongly aligns with the business’s wider core values, making this a wonderful place to pursue a career in insurance.”

In January 2026, Russell Scanlan officially adopted the Acrisure name, after it was acquired by the global fintech leader in 2022. The move allows Acrisure Nottingham to continue to operate with the same experienced team and commitment to client care – now with the backing of one of the world’s fastest growing insurance brokers.

Mike Dickinson, Regional Director, Midlands, Acrisure UK Broking and Managing Director at Russell Scanlan, added: “It’s an exciting time for us. Our business is going from strength to strength and we’re investing heavily in the team to support this. We’re wishing all three all the success in their new roles in the team.”
